The roles of the allocating agency, the developer, the lender, and the investor in a successful development will be discussed; a typical tax credit transaction explored; and the reservation process, placed-in-service date and tax credit period examined.
2:15 p.m. - 3:45 p.m. The Historic Tax Credit: Preserving America's Venerable Structures
An important tool in preserving the many buildings and institutions in America that can no longer serve their original purpose, the historic rehabilitation tax credit can work hand in with the LIHTC and the NMTC. An overview of the credit and how it provides tax incentives for qualified rehabilitation expenditures on income-producing properties will be explained by the experts on this panel.
4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. The New Markets Tax Credit: Reinvigorating Communities
Created to provide tax incentive to revitalize low-income business districts, the New Markets Tax Credit program is administered by the U. S. Treasury department and has many rules and regulations on how to use the credit. The overview provides a basic 101 course and will outline the steps to a completed project.
