The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 looks to give the new markets (NMTC), renewable energy (RETC) and low-income housing (LIHTC) tax credit programs a boost, some more beneficial than others. Hear how the $787 billion economic stimulus package will affect the three industries and listen as Michael J.   • • the additional $1.5 billion allotted for the 2008 new markets tax credit allocation round and an additional $1.5 billion for the 2009 allocation round
  • • the extension of the placed in service date for wind through December 31, 2012 and through December 31, 2013 for certain other qualifying facilities
  • • temporary permission to elect the investment tax credit in lieu of the production tax credit
  • • the LIHTC exchange provision and $2 billion gap filler
