Second Annual Developments of Distinction Awards
Nomination Form
The Novogradac Journal of Tax Credit Housing is pleased to sponsor the Second Annual JTC Developments of Distinction awards. The JTC Developments of Distinction awards recognize excellence and honor outstanding achievement in the development of projects using the low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC), historic tax credit (HTC), renewable energy tax credit (RETC) and/or tax credit projects using U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) financing. Those tax credit projects to be honored will have: been placed in service in 2009/2010; had a meaningful and major impact on their community; demonstrated financial innovation; or overcome significant obstacles in their development. A panel of judges with wide-ranging expertise in the various tax credit industry sectors will review all entries.
Nominations are open to all with knowledge of a deserving project. Projects may be nominated in one or more of the categories listed below and may be a project you were involved with or simply one you deem deserving. A single nominating entity may enter more than one project in more than one category. Practitioners from all sectors of the tax credits industry are encouraged to submit nominations.
Nomination Instructions
- Please submit one form for each entry.
- Submit your nomination on the form provided. You may submit as many nominations as you like, but use a separate form for each submission. Nominations will be accepted until September 15, 2010.
- Indicate the award category that is applicable to the nomination.
- State clearly in an email or in a separate Word attachment why the project deserves recognition in the specified category. Support your statement with project details, such as total development costs, hard construction costs, number of units, development cost per LIHTC unit, tax credit allocation, federal tax credits per unit, state and local subsidies used, square footage, project team, services and amenities provided, any specifics that will provide the judges with a clear picture of the development and appreciation of its value in the chosen category. Submit to JTCHawards@novoco.com along with any additional material (i.e., photographs, publications, slides, etc.) that will help support your nomination. Be sure to indicate whether the materials should be returned.
- Include your name, address, and telephone number in the space marked “Nominated by.” If someone other than you is to be notified of the status of the nomination or award, please include that information in the “Contact Person” section.
- The judges for the JTC Developments of Distinction Awards may select more than one awardee in each category or may not select an awardee within a category. The judges may award a project in a category different than the one indicated on the form if it appears that another category is more appropriate.
- Winning developments and their project teams will be featured in the Journal of Tax Credits.
Please complete this form only once for each project nominated. All information is kept in strict confidence.
