Reporting to the head of Community Development Investment, the CDI Investment Analyst / Manager will analyze, underwrite, and prepare approval recommendations for community development investments for Capital One Bank and Capital One N.A., with a focus on investing in Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC). Assist in the management of client and vendor relationships. Prepare activity reports for senior management and handle the day-to-day administrative activities for CDI origination.
Responsibilties:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree.
3 years experience underwriting community development / affordable housing investments and/or underwriting experience in commercial real estate or community development finance
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting.
Underwriting experience with a leading syndicator or purchaser of low income housing tax credits.
Experience in managing client relationships.
Familiarity with Community Reinvestment Act and related examination process.
Experience in working with legal counsel.
Ability to analyze and structure investment transactions and present them for approval.
Negotiation and closing skills.
Ability to understand complex transaction documents.
Ability to work independently.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to travel occasionally.
This position can be located in Richmond or McLean, Va.
