Description:
The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) has an opening for the position of Director of Council Housing Policy. This is a new position in NAHB s Housing Policy Department which is responsible for conducting research and providing technical analysis on issues of importance to NAHB members. The Director of Council Housing Policy will have responsibility for providing these services to NAHB Councils that cover particular segments of the housing market. Specific responsibilities for the position include overseeing and conducting housing policy research; producing articles for various NAHB publications; helping to develop NAHB policy; and serving as a spokesperson and representing NAHB at meetings with industry partners, relevant government agencies, and other organizations. A candidate for the position must be able to employ data from diverse sources to analyze technical financial issues, critique technical publications, use spreadsheets to manipulate complex data and perform advanced financial and statistical calculations, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. The position requires at least five years of practical experience in housing with a strong knowledge of housing programs and issues. Direct experience with multifamily and other housing programs is preferred. Masters degree in finance, real estate or a related field that includes coursework in quantitative analysis preferred.
