Description:
Reporting to the Director of Underwriting for the Community Development Finance group, the Senior Underwriter will analyze, structure, underwrite, prepare and present credit approval recommendations for community development loans, with a focus on affordable housing. After approval, the Senior Underwriter will negotiate the loan documents and facilitate closing with the help of a variety of internal an external partners.

Responsibilties:
Required:
Bachelors degree.
At least 2 years experience underwriting community development loans or affordable housing investments and/or underwriting experience in commercial real estate.

Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
Underwriting and closing experience with a leading bank, tax credit syndicators or purchaser of low income housing tax credits.
Experience in managing client relationships.
Familiarity with Community Reinvestment Act and related examination process.
Experience in working with legal counsel.
Strong quantitative analysis skills.
Strong Excel skills.
Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
Ability to analyze and structure loan transactions.
Ability to understand and negotiate complex transactions and related legal documentation.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to travel.
