Senior Financial Analyst

Title: Senior Financial Analyst

Essential Functions:

  • Perform review of:
    • Monthly Operating Reports (MOR)
    • Annual audited financial statements;
    • Rental Achievement (RA)/Breakeven (BE)/Debt Coverage Ratio (DCR); and
    • Operating deficit funding requests
  • Develop programs and procedures to expand the receipt of monthly operating results from our partners through electronic transfers.
  • Provide analytical support to the Director of Asset Management, Operations Controller, Acquisition Dept., Debt Advisory Group and Marketing/Syndication.
  • Assist the Operations Controller in providing information systems support and consistency across our regional asset management network.
  • Develop relationships with property management companies.
  • Assist in the transition of properties under workout.
  • Assists Operations Assistant Controller in the electronic transfer of financial data from property management companies.
  • Prepares property adjustments for debt coverage ratio report.
  • Assists Operations Assistant Controller in developing training materials and manuals for new hires
  • Assists in training of new hires and temporary help.
  • Leads and coordinates special projects.
  • Special projects.

Minimum Qualifications :

Professional/Technical training or knowledge: High attention to detail with the ability to identify financial trends and possess the confidence that work product is accurate and complete. Initiates new ideas to streamline routine tasks. Must be able to solve problems independently and flexible to work in a group setting. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Willing to accept responsibility for new projects and see projects through completion. Requires little supervision. Knowledge of Excel, Word and Access. Skilled with spreadsheet analytical software (including Macros and importing/exporting data), networks, accounting software & databases.

Work experience:

Min. 5 years of experience. Experience in real estate or multi-family housing.

General education or equivalent:

BA/BS in Accounting, Finance or related field.

Additional education or license required:

MBA, MA, CPA or CFA would be beneficial. Additional 2 or more years of relevant work experience may replace additional education requirements.
