Description:
The Senior Asset Manager will be responsible for the post closing activities of a Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) portfolio and supporting a team of LIHTC asset managers through database systems management and reporting.  This position acts largely as the key relationship manager with LIHTC syndicators monitoring fund performance and the development, construction, lease-up and operations of underlying fund assets.  This includes ensuring syndicators provide timely and accurate operations reporting, evaluating potential risk in the portfolio, developing, managing, and documenting a watch list and creating action plans to improve performance of sub optimal assets. 

Job Responsibilities:
Monitor and report on risk profile of assigned portfolio, develop and recommend mitigation strategies, and monitor progress. Get periodic reports from fund managers, review for quality control, analyze data for early warning signs of performance issues, develop action plans for watchlist assets and monitor the watchlist.  Manage documentation requirements.

Manage fund manager relationships. Ensure primary asset management duties contracted to them are being carried out. Develop and maintain strong relationship to enhance communication and pro-active attention.  Conduct annual on-site and desk top due diligence. Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.

Requirements:

  • 5 plus years multifamily real estate experience, preferably in tax credit investments.
  • Strong background in asset management or credit underwriting. Proficiency in financial modeling and risk evaluation.
  • Substantial experience working with data management systems.
  • Knowledge of Section 42 tax code regulations and interpretations.
  • Proven customer management skills including relationship management and negotiations.
