Community Development Awards
The Novogradac Community Development Foundation (NCDF) on October 22, 2009 honored special achievement in the field of community development at Novogradac & Company LLP's New Markets Tax Credit Investors Conference in Chicago, Ill. Winners of the Community Development Awards were chosen from individuals and projects nominated by Novogradac & Company LLP conference attendees, subscribers to the New Markets Tax Credit Report and others in the new markets tax credit industry. The awards illuminate and recognize excellence in individuals, as well as community development entities (CDEs) that have made exceptional qualified low-income community investments (QLICIs).
Individuals categories included Federal Legislator of the Year, State Legislator of the Year and Public Executive of the Year. These awards honor those who have assisted substantially in the advancement of community development, policy agenda and legislative priorities, as well as those who have had a particularly strong impact on the field of community development.
Among the QLICIs that were honored are those in the small business, operating business, real estate, metro, and non-metro categories. Winners reflect a well-executed vision and measurable community impact, as well as a commitment to establishing positive change in bringing more people and places into the economic mainstream.
The Novogradac Community Development Foundation (NCDF) is a private not-for-profit entity that addresses the issues of community and economic development, housing and the preservation of America's neighborhoods. The NCDF fosters the development of knowledge, supports beneficial public policy, and disseminates community development information in its endeavors to establish positive change in the nation's communities.
