Winners Announced!

The Novogradac Community Development Foundation (NCDF) honored special achievement in the field of community development on October 20, 2011 at the New Markets Tax Credit Investors Conference in Chicago, Ill. Winners of the Community Development Awards were chosen from individuals and projects nominated by Novogradac & Company LLP conference attendees, subscribers to the Journal of Tax Credits and others in the new markets tax credit industry. The awards recognized and celebrated excellence in individuals, as well as community development entities (CDEs) that made exceptional qualified low-income community investments (QLICIs).

The Individuals categories included Federal Legislator of the Year, State Legislator of the Year and Public Executive of the Year. These awards honored those who have assisted substantially in the advancement of community development, policy agenda and legislative priorities, as well as those who had a particularly strong impact on the field of community development.

QLICIs of the Year honored were  in the small business, operating business, real estate, metro, and non-metro QLICIs categories. Winners reflected a well-executed vision and measurable community impact as well as a commitment to establishing positive change in bringing more people and places into the economic mainstream. The Novogradac Community Development Foundation (NCDF) is a not-for-profit entity that addresses the issues of community and economic development, housing and the preservation of America's neighborhoods. The NCDF fosters the development of knowledge, supports beneficial public policy, and disseminates community development information in its endeavors to establish positive change in the nation's communities.
