Alaska Housing Finance Corporation Announces Federal, State Fund Availability
The Alaska Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC) last week announced the availability of federal and state funds for the development of rental housing for low- and moderate-income families, seniors and persons with disabilities. The funds will be made available through three separate applications; the GOAL program, the Special Needs Housing Grant Program (SNHG) and the Senior and Special Needs Housing Pre-Development Fund program. Approximately $6 million in grants and $20 million in federal low-income housing tax credits (LIHTC) will be available under these programs. Each program requires a separate application and has separate rating criteria. Sponsors can apply for all three funding sources for the same project.
