Biden’s COVID-19 Relief Plan Includes Rental Assistance; Extension of Eviction, Foreclosure Moratoriums
President-elect Joe Biden released a $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief plan today that includes an extension of the eviction and foreclosure moratoriums and continue applications for forbearance on federally guaranteed mortgages until Sept. 30. In addition to creating a national vaccine program plan, Biden’s proposal would provide an additional $25 billion in rental relief, primarily for low- and moderate-income households; and provide $5 billion in emergency assistance to help individuals and families obtain stable housing. The plan also includes $1,400 per person in direct checks, an extra $400 per week and other expansion of unemployment benefits, and grants to assist more than 1 million of the hardest-hit small businesses.
Biden’s economic plans will be among the topics at the Novogradac 2021 New Markets Tax Credit Virtual Conference, Jan. 21-22.
