Tuesday, February 27, 2024 - 7:55AM

The California Tax Credit Allocating Committee (CTCAC) released a set of 10 proposed regulations changes concerning the low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) this week. The proposed changes include limiting the state LIHTC allocation to $200,000 per unit, restricting the increase in rent when a LIHTC property changes owners and modifying the developer fee limits for special needs housing financed by 9% LIHTCs and for all 4% LIHTC properties. CTCAC will hold a public hearing on the proposals at 10 a.m. PT March 12. Stakeholders can attend the hearing or participate via a Teams link. A meeting to consider the adoption of the regulations is April 3.

The Novogradac 2024 Affordable Housing Conference May 2-3 in San Francisco will feature a panel on California’s approach to affordable housing.
