Delaware Gov. Jack Markell signed S.B. 209 into law yesterday, authorizing a 10-year extension of the Delaware Historic Preservation Tax Credit (HTC) program that allows property owners to receive state HTCs for expenses incurred during the restoration of historic buildings. Markell’s office reported that the Historic Preservation Tax Credit program, which had been scheduled to expire on June 30, has supported an estimated 2,400 jobs and generated more than $166 million for the state since its inception in 2001.
