HUD Opens Application Period for Supplemental COVID-19 Relief Funds
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Office of Multifamily Housing published Notice H 2021-05 Thursday opening the application period for supplemental funding due to the COVID-19 pandemic for properties receiving assistance as part of the Section 8, Section 202 or Section 811 programs. The notice expands the window for payment requests for expenses incurred to seven months from four, with the timeframe now concluding Oct. 31, 2021. Additional property expenditures covered in the notice include limited availability for capital investments in heating, ventilation and air conditioning, system upgrades, emergency generators and broadband infrastructure. A minimum expected funding level is available per property at $2,500 and up to $25,000 for standard requests. Forms are due Nov. 19. In the notice, HUD said it anticipates this is the final round of COVID supplemental payments (CSP) it will provide.
