HUD Publishes Notice with Requirements for PHAs to Administer Emergency Vouchers
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) published a notice that outlines requirements for public housing authorities (PHAs) who will be invited to administer 70,000 vouchers. PIH Notice 2021-15 provides guidance for the vouchers, which are funded by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 and are for individuals and families who are homeless; at risk of homelessness; fleeing or attempting to flee domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking or human trafficking; or recently homeless and for whom rental assistance will prevent the family from having a high risk of housing instability. HUD also published a list of PHAs invited to administer the vouchers.
