HUD Releases FY 2019 Income Limits

Wednesday, April 24, 2019 - 8:30am

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) today released income limits for fiscal year (FY) 2019 to determine income eligibility for HUD-assisted programs. Those HUD programs include public housing, Section 8, Section 202 and Section 811. HUD also released Multifamily Tax Subsidy Program income limits for FY 2019, which are used for low-income housing tax credit and tax-exempt bond properties. The FY 2019 national median income is $75,000, an increase of 5 percent over the national median income in FY 2018. HUD will continue to cap the increase at twice the change in national median income, so that means the cap on increases will be 10 percent.

The Notes from Novogradac blog has a primer on what you need to know about 2019 income limits and estimating median income for 2019 and 2020. The Novogradac Rent & Income Calculator® will be updated soon. An industry alert will announce that update.
