Minnesota Budget Bill Includes Provision to Extend State HTC for One Year
An omnibus tax bill agreed to by the Minnesota Legislature includes a one-year extension of the state historic tax credit. H.F. 9, which passed in the Legislature’s special session, would extend the sunset date of Minnesota’s HTC until June 30, 2022. The state HTC is currently set to expire at the end of this month. The bill is expected to be signed by Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.
The Novogradac Introduction to Historic Tax Credits booklet provides an introduction to the basics of the HTC incentive, including the interaction of the state and federal credit.
