NABL Asks Congress to Lift Volume Cap Restrictions for Housing for Three Years

Tuesday, March 24, 2020 - 9:30am

In a letter to the leaders of Congress, the National Association of Bond Lawyers (NABL) asked for adjustments concerning bond regulations, including the elimination of volume cap restrictions for single-family and multifamily housing properties for 2020, 2021 and 2022. NABL urged Congress to include 11 provisions relating to bonds in COVID-19 relief legislation. Of the housing request, the letter says, “Even before the current financial crisis, there was an extreme shortage of affordable housing in this country. This shortage is now almost certain to be exacerbated.”
