New Report from EIG Highlights How OZ Incentive Can Assist Children, Families

Tuesday, October 20, 2020 - 9:30am

Demonstrating that the COVID-19 pandemic has disproportionately harmed low-income communities–particularly children–a new report from the Economic Innovation Group (EIG) explains how the opportunity zones (OZ) incentive can be used to build a supportive ecosystem for children and families in OZs. “Advancing education and child development in Opportunity Zones,” presents ways the tax incentive can be leveraged to make the greatest impact, highlights projects from mission-driven groups that are seeking investment and offers strategies for a variety of stakeholders to improve child outcomes in distressed communities.

The effect of the pandemic on OZs and how the incentive can be used to assist in the recovery will be discussed this week at the Novogradac 2020 Opportunity Zones Fall Virtual Conference, Thursday and Friday.
