The National Park Service (NPS) today issued a request for public comment on proposed increases to the fees that it charges for reviewing certification applications for historic tax credits (HTCs). The NPS is proposing fees that are projected to be less than the direct costs of the program, but are a higher percentage of costs than the current fees. The proposed fee schedule for the Historic Preservation Certification Applications can be found in the notice. The NPS will accept comments on the proposed fee changes until July 23, 2012.

Tune in to the June 26 Tax Credit Tuesday podcast to learn more about the proposed changes. The proposed fee changes are also sure to be a hot topic at the National Historic Tax Credit Conference, September 6-7 in Louisville, Ky.
