Utah Legislation Calls for State to ‘Revisit’ OZ Designations
Legislation introduced in the Utah Legislature calls for the state to revisit its opportunity zones (OZ) designations and calls for the state to amend the OZ designations. H.C.R. 27, which calls for a study and report on how to better deploy state resources in underperforming communities, also includes criticism of the state’s designation of OZs. The bill says Utah’s designation of OZs left out “vast rural areas” and specifies that “many communities, especially rural communities” were overlooked.
