Rep. Bill Thomas (R-Calif.) this week announced that the House Committee on Ways and Means will hold a four-part hearing to examine the economic growth proposals included in the Bush administration’s fiscal year 2004 budget, including the proposal to exclude certain corporate dividend payments from federal income taxes. The hearings will take place March 4-6 and 11 before the full committee. As tentatively scheduled, the dividend exclusion proposal would be heard in the third segment, planned for March 6. Only invited witnesses’ testimony will be heard, but written statements will be accepted for consideration by the Committee or for inclusion in the printed record of the hearing.  Written statements can be sent electronically to [email protected], and a copy faxed to (202) 225-2610, by the close of business on Tuesday, March 18, 2003.
