Wyden Introduces Clean Energy for America Act

Friday, May 5, 2017 - 1:15pm

Senate Finance Committee Ranking Member Ron Wyden, D-Ore., yesterday introduced the Clean Energy for America Act. Under the legislation’s proposed technology-neutral program, taxpayers could choose to take a production tax credit (PTC) of 2.3 cents per kilowatt hour or a 30 percent investment tax credit (ITC). The proposal would repeal the phasedown for wind and solar incentives. Expired and expiring clean energy provisions would be extended through Dec. 31, 2018. Wyden also released a section-by-section summary and a one-page summary of the bill. Similar legislation was introduced in the previous session of Congress but did not make progress.
