Historic Tax Credit Lobby Days

By now it’s no secret that momentum for tax reform efforts and a sustained focus on deficit reduction in Congress could affect the future of the historic preservation tax credit. Enter the National Trust for Historic Preservation and the Historic Tax Credit Coalition (HTCC), of which Novogradac & Company is a member, which are cosponsoring a national campaign to support this proven program.

Among other things, the Prosperity through Preservation campaign involves organizing visits to Capitol Hill in support of the historic preservation tax credit. A two-day lobbying event has been planned for July 10 and 11 to build Congressional support for the Creating American Prosperity through Preservation, or CAPP, Act.

The CAPP Act protects and enhances the historic tax credit. House and Senate versions of the bill were introduced in Congress last summer as S. 2074 and H.R. 2479. Tune in to this week’s Tax Credit Tuesday podcast to hear more about the bills.

In addition to hill visits, the campaign has scheduled an evening reception and senate luncheon briefing on July 10 and 11. Those interested in attending should contact the campaign by Friday, June 22 to RSVP.
