Renewable Energy Grant Application Deadline Nears

Renewable energy professionals are reminded that the online application system for the Section 1603 cash grant program closes for new applications at midnight on Sept. 30, 2012.

In addition to submitting an application through that system, Section 1603 grant applicants must also register with the System for Awards Management (SAM) before a payment can be made.

This week Treasury posted the following statement on its Section 1603 web page:

“Since implementation, SAM has experienced performance issues. GSA has taken aggressive action to resolve these issues promptly. While registration in SAM is necessary to receive a 1603 payment, it is not necessary to submit an application. Applicants may use the time between application submission and award to complete their registration in SAM.” (emphasis added)
