In this week’s Tax Credit Tuesday podcast, Michael J. In new markets tax credit news, he reports on the potential introduction of legislation to make the new markets tax credit permanent and describes a Texas bill to create a new markets tax credit program in that state. In historic tax credit news, he relays Rep. Niki Tsongas’s call for guidance on the historic tax credit program, and alerts listeners to bills that would affect state-level programs in Missouri and Iowa. In low-income housing tax credit news, he alerts listeners to Novogradac and Company’s “Affordable Rental Housing After Tax Reform: Calculating Corporate Tax Reform's Possible Effects on Equity Raised from Low-Income Housing Tax Credits” report and a call from the National Housing Conference and the Center for Housing Policy to temporarily increase low-income housing tax credits for supportive veterans housing. In renewable energy tax credit news, he reports on a Nebraska bill that would enable renewable energy sources to qualify for the Nebraska Advantage Act.
