Director of Government Affairs, NYC Housing Development Corporation
Elizabeth Strojan joined the New York City Housing Development Corporation (HDC) and Department of Housing Preservation & Development (HPD) as director of government affairs in March 2017. She leads all federal affairs, including funding, policy, and tax issues related to affordable housing for both agencies. Before joining HDC and HPD, Ms. Strojan was director of public policy and external affairs for the New York office of Enterprise Community Partners. At Enterprise, Ms. Strojan founded the state and local policy program, since replicated in markets nationwide, ensuring that the organization plays a leading role in local policy matters. Ms. Strojan got her start in affordable housing as a Paul D. Coverdell Peace Corps Fellow at University Neighborhood Housing Program in the Bronx. Before moving to New York, she served as an environmental education volunteer with the United States Peace Corps in Madagascar and coordinator of the Bonner Scholars program at her alma mater in Kentucky. Ms. Strojan holds a dual master’s degree in economics and international political economy and development from Fordham University and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Centre College.
