Guest Judge: John Adamucci

Vice President, Community Funding Group

John Adamucci joined Community Funding Group (CFG) in 2008 and has been an integral component of the organization’s asset management and project consulting since that time. He manages CFG’s ongoing relationship with four active new markets tax credit (NMTC) projects in the state of Oregon, ensuring that projects are cash flowing as foreseen in the NMTC financing structure, and that compliance requirements are being met with the Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) Fund, the federal agency that oversees the program. These days, Mr. Adamucci’s time is spent on CFG’s consulting practice, representing projects which are seeking allocation for their projects. Focusing on nonprofit organizations, Mr. Adamucci has raised $40 million for his clients. Typical projects Mr. Adamucci has advised on are community facilities such as homeless shelters, food banks, YMCAs, Boys & Girls Clubs and medical clinics. CFG’s consulting services include evaluation of eligibility and readiness for NMTC financing; education of executives and board members on the benefits and challenges tax credits can bring to a project; providing financial and organizational analysis in preparation for obtaining funding; marketing to and receiving tax credit allocation and investment from potential NMTC partners; and finally managing the NMTC transaction’s closing and securing the funds. Additionally, CFG provides project pipeline development services for community development entities (CDEs) as the CDEs prepare their applications to the Treasury Department’s CDFI Fund for NMTC allocation. Prior to joining Community Funding Group, he enjoyed a successful nine-year career as an information technology professional, as both an employee and a consultant. Most recently he worked for Sharp Healthcare, San Diego County’s leading healthcare provider. There he created the enterprise-wide Identity Management Database, which tracked application access for employees, physicians and outside vendors.
