Jon Krabbenschmidt is a partner in the San Francisco office of Novogradac & Company LLP. Mr. Krabbenschmidt joined Novogradac in 1991 and became a partner in the San Francisco office in 1992. Before joining Novogradac, Mr. Krabbenschmidt was a tax manager in the San Francisco office of Arthur Andersen & Company. He then spent five years directing financial product design and taxation for a San Francisco-based REIT organizer. Mr. Krabbenschmidt received a bachelor’s degree in business management with an emphasis in accounting, graduating in 1976 from California State University, Chico. In 1979, he received his juris doctor from the University of San Francisco and became a licensed attorney in California. He then received his license as a certified public accountant in California in 1982. Mr. Krabbenschmidt specializes in real estate and partnership accounting and taxation, assisting clients with accounting and tax compliance as well as various other consulting and tax planning activities, including review and drafting of partnership agreements, consulting on organizational structuring, financial forecasting and cost segregation studies. His clients include high-net-worth individuals, trusts and estates, market rate and affordable housing partnerships and developers, renewable energy developers and investors, new markets tax credit (NMTC) developers, historic tax credit (HTC) developers and vineyards and wineries. He serves as the Novogradac’s general counsel and provides expert witness services and litigation support services. He has performed expert witness services in California, Colorado, Illinois, Florida, Texas, Louisiana and Nevada federal and state courts as well as arbitration cases.
