On Feb. 5, the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Housing, Community Development, and Insurance held a hearing entitled “A Future Without Public Housing? Examining the Trump Administration’s Efforts to Eliminate Public Housing.”

The House Financial Services Committee today passed a series of bills, including the Housing is Infrastructure Act and the Housing Fairness Act. The Housing is Infrastructure Act (H.R. 5187) would authorize $70 billion to address the capital needs backlog for public housing and another $32.1 billion for investments in affordable housing.
